International youth day: NPP Chairman calls on constitutional amendment on age limit for presidential candidates

The NPP Chairman for the madina/ La Nkwantana constituency Hon. Eric Nartey Yeboah has called for a relook at the constitutional provision that disqualify people below the age of 45 years from contesting presidential elections.

According to the NPP Chairman, the age cup does not only militate against youth development by dumping their spirits it is also an unfair principle of law.

Mr Eric Yeboah also known as chairman Dollar noted that the youth are used for various forms activities by politicians including extremely dangerous and negative acts, but when it comes to the apex position of the land they’re excluded.

Mr Nartey Yeboah was addressing some selected party youth of his constituency at his residence on how to tap into the wide resources of the youth to win election 2020 for NPP.

The NPP chairman noted that the current NPP administration has provided so much support for the youth within its three years in government. “The government has instituted more youth friendly policies than any other government in the 4th republic.
Therefore there is the need for the youth to rise up and support the NPP in the 2020 elections to ensure that we continue the good work.” He said.

He further added that, ‘one thing that remains undone is the age limit for qualifications to be president. In the next NPP administration we should push hard to ensure the constitution is amended to allow the young ones to contest presidential elections.’

According to the Chairman, in all elections conducted Since the 4th republic have seen NPP win all university campuses across the country giving the hint that NPP has much more quality Human Resources among the youth, therefore any policy that’s against the youth affects the NPP the more.

He charged the youth to pour out in their numbers to the streets and all nooks and cronies of the country to convince the youth to vote NPP in the coming elections .
